“Collaboration was integral to creating this adventurous play space that integrates seamlessly into the stunning bayside vista – and the results are breathtaking, in more ways than one!”

The sky’s the limit for the adventurous

It won’t take much imagination to launch into adventure above Okoromai Bay at the new nature-inspired playground at Everard Reserve. Replacing an outdated facility, the new design is a thrilling mix of activity and imagination, with sheltered picnic areas to rest and enjoy the views.

Community needs were front and centre for Auckland Council, the final design maximising adventurous and imaginative play for children aged six to 12 years while preserving the stunning vistas enjoyed by neighbouring residents. The re-vamped play space also features recycled and repurposed materials in a nod to local heritage.

Glide down gentle slope on an exciting adventure Little Eagles Nest Prairie with Koru Wave Slide with climbing nets and two great vantage points to survey the surrounds.

No playground is complete without swings, and the 2-bay Timba Mega Swing with its 3.2m top bar is specifically designed for young adults while the Flying Saucer – Timba Single Frame can hold up to five children at once.

The Stand-up Timber Seesaw and round out the thrills on offer, while the

Chin-up Fitness Station (Timber) offers a chance to test strength and endurance.

To complete the park's amenities, our street and park furniture partner Urban Effects supplied a range of outdoor furniture that complements the natural beauty of the reserve. The Parkvale Pedestal Table Settings comfortably placed under the shade of a Kiwi Curved Shelter are perfect spots for families to relax and enjoy their time at the park.  To always encourage responsible waste disposal, the MODO60 Stainless Steel Tilt Rubbish Bin was also provided for the park goers.

The natural timber of the equipment blends into the surrounds, with edging of gums felled from another park, rock from an old seawall and bollards add another dimension of obstacle play.
