Set beside a serene lake and surrounded by a path perfect for scooting and meandering, Maple Park in Clyde sets the bar high when it comes to adventure playgrounds.

Sprawling green hills surround the play area which boasts exciting and engaging recreation equipment like balancing poles with rope bridges and tightropes, twirly tube slides, swing, embankment slide on a mound, wooden jumping jacks, musical instrument and a lot more.

And for those more interested in rest and relaxation, the park invites leisurely get-togethers, shaded from the elements at undercover picnic tables, where sausages sizzle on state-of-the-art outdoor barbecues. Maple Park is a delicious combination of ingredients culminating in the perfect recipe for a day of fun.

Collaboration

Acting on the vision of National Pacific Properties and in collaboration with MDG Landscape Architects, we have created a colourful wonderland for the new neighbourhood of Maple Park in the bustling growth corridor of Melbourne’s south-east.

Always focused on their Eliston development goal of “thoughtful planning and a design focus on outdoor living”, we brought together a centrally located recreation space that provides a place to come together with friends and family.

The playground combines individual elements with communal areas to create a space that is welcoming, beckoning adventurous play alongside restful relaxation. Children can clamber up ropes and down slides, engaging in grand adventures and collaborative play pursuits with fellow park-goers.

Blending the natural surrounds with the colourful adventure equipment, the park is an invitation for all to enjoy. Native gardens are interwoven with wide paths to scoot and stroll, providing easy access in and around the playground for all.

Solution

Maple Park boasts a creative mix of innovative playground pieces, with one of the standout attractions being the thrilling tube and chute slides. This fun-fuelled play pieces insist children to tap into their adventurous spirit to zoom down from different heights for a sky-high thrill.

For those who prefer their clambering to be a little more grounded, the playground features a soft, shaded mound designed to cushion any spills. The customised mound embankment slide and play unit invites park-goers to reach the top via the thick rope ladder, rock holds or the steep poles with mini platforms. Kids can challenge each other in a race to the top. Will it be quicker by the rock ladder? Or the steps? Then a race to the bottom on foot or slipping down the slide.

Slowing down the adventures to a tranquil pace, children can enjoy the musical Harmony Flowers. Ever-blooming, these colourful musical flowers are both visually and aurally stimulating, emitting a pure tone that resounds across the space in a gentle and enduring way. These interactive pieces encourage children to engage in imaginative music-making that arouses the senses.

And of course, no playground is without a swing set and carousel, and Maple Park delivers on both fronts. The Inclusive Carousel brings endless swirling and twirling delight while delivering all the health benefits of spinning.
