Play Priorities
Brimbank City Council upgraded Balmoral Park with an attractive playground, shelter and barbecue facilities to create a relaxing open space for families to enjoy.
Designed with community input the park meets the Council’s focus on creating cooler, greener spaces to encourage local residents to be active and enjoy the outdoors.
Fun Solution
With a community of growing families, Brimbank City Council wanted an attractive playground catering to a wide age range of children and families, which was easy to maintain and vandal resistant.
The 6m Eagle Nest with net bridge and kora wave slide features four baskets suspended at different heights, three connecting ladders between nests, two climbing chimneys and five climbing ropes. The Mulberry Bush Carousel is great fun for toddlers and pre-schoolers.
Installation was staged with the spinner footing installed first to allow for the playground’s surfacing to be laid, then nets were installed.
Balmoral Park’s attractive new playground also features a nature play space with landscaped rock mould, rock and log steppers, and picnic area with shelter, barbecue and seating.
The playground equipment was completed in natural tones to complement the park, which has been planted with more trees and shrubs as part of the upgrade.
