Auckland for Kids Facebook readers have chosen the City’s 10 best parks for 2018: with lessons for playspaces everywhere.
Playground Centre co-created 6 of the top 10 playgrounds!
#1 Tui Glen Park Reserve
#2 Madills Farm Playground
#3 Takapuna Beach Reserve Playground
#5 (equal) Waterview Playground, Western Park and One Tree Hill
Top-spot winner Tui Glen Reserve opened in 2013 with an exciting treetop
theme and inclusive fun design: proving that smart design and durable
equipment stands the test of time.
Madills Farm Playground combines vibrant hues to complement the bustling green surrounds with fantastic equipment at every level.
Takapuna Beach Reserve Playground is a breathtaking kids’ dream, with
towering adventures, twirling slides, radical ropes and even a hamster wheel.
Helping all ages and abilities come together, Takapuna Park has a nine-metre
high tower with thrilling challenges – plus sand and water play for littlies, a
wheelchair carousel and inclusive trampoline.
As well as one of the city’s highest and longest slides, Western Park playground
integrates easily accessible trampolines and carousel equipment, plus
wheelchair-friendly basket swing and spinners.
Designed to offset a major motorway, Waterview Park was designed with the
help of local school students – with water play, superslides, bridges, tunnels and
climbing challenges to create a unifying space the community loves.
